A Place in Time Tattoo is the shop Scott Mock opened in 2024 after nearly a decade of tattooing — eight shops, four of which he helped open, and two cross-country moves' worth of lessons in how a studio should treat people. Every tattoo is done with sterile, single-use supplies, and follow-up sessions within the first 60 days cost you only the supplies used. Here you're not a walking canvas — you're part of the family.
Where were you on Black Friday 2014? I happened to be hungover with regret and looking at a tattoo I thought looked way cooler the night before. After calling the guy who did my tattoo and telling him I could have done better, he told me to buy my own equipment and show him up. I did just that. A year later of trying to learn on my own and my friends volunteering their skin (sorry Dave) I managed to land an apprenticeship. 9 years, 8 shops (helping 4 of those open) and 2 cross country moves, I have decided it's time to pursue my dream of opening my very own shop. A Place in Time Tattoo is my vision brought to life of what a tattoo shop should be. Safety, professionalism, and a memorable tattoo experience where artists take pride in their craft. At A Place in Time Tattoo you're not simply viewed as a client or a walking canvas, but as part of our family.

Piercing
Piercings are done here alongside tattooing, held to the same standard — sterile, single-use, and placed with care for your anatomy. From a first piercing to adding to a collection, we take the time to get placement and jewelry right. Ask at the shop or send a message for current pricing and jewelry options.

Pricing & policies
How do I book?
Send your idea through the booking form, call the shop, or stop by in person at 1333 E. State Street. Someone on our team replies directly to talk through the design and find a time.
What does a tattoo cost?
It depends on size, detail, and placement, so there's no flat price list. Describe your idea in the booking form and we'll cover pricing in our reply.
Do I need a deposit?
A deposit locks in your appointment once we confirm your request — your artist covers the details in their reply.
Do you take walk-ins?
The shop is open Tuesday through Saturday, 12:30–8. Call ahead to see if there's time that day, or book ahead to be sure.
What if my tattoo needs a touch-up?
Follow-up sessions within the first 60 days cost you only the supplies used — if something needs adjusting, come back in.
Any discounts?
We offer discounts to active military members and veterans.
How old do I need to be?
You must be 18 or older, and bring photo ID to your appointment.
